Rock music would sound as Dienztag music does, if it wouldn’t originate in Afro-American blues traditions, but in authentic subalpine traditions and instruments instead.
Like the many years overlooked zithers that can sound like percussions or electric guitar in the right pair of hands. Dienztag had its premiere on the jazz festival in Saalfelden 2006 and has immediately become an international success. Rhythmic and dance sound of Christof Dienz’s zither is excellently accompanied by great instrumentalists
from Vienna Art Orchestra, Maria Joao musicians and others.
