“No Way Back” Vö 25/4 -2007 Cracking paradoxical Pop. There is something refreshing and new about a band that plays pop music. Not funkpop or poprock. Nor pop with a dash of noise or hiphop. Just pop. Thats exactly what Steric does. Steric is the story about a paradoxical popband. They essentially play pop, but they have their roots in anything but pop. They won a big national music competition (DM I Rock), but they have never released a rock album. The lead singer looks more like a Devendra Banhart indierock crossover than anything else. But from behind the wildgrowing beard sounds a crunchy, mellow and smooth popvocal. The debut album, “No way Back” has been on its way since 1999. After three single hits on the National Danish Radio, three re-recordings of the album material, four children and one music video later, Steric is now ready to present their debut album, a pure pop album. The album, “No Way Back”, presents eleven English titled pop songs with inspiration from Prefab Sprout, Style Counsil and The Cardigans. It is played by human hands with a smooth leadvocal, crispy guitars and ingenious horn arrangements like Burt Bacharach - simply elegant and stylish. The atmosphere in the music is subtle, light and bubbling and Steric fully assures from the first line that the spring is right around the next corner. FORMAT: CD
