“Someway Still I Do” marks the solo debut of guitarist, composer and producer Alessandro Magnanini.

The consciousness to dedicate himself to an entire album developed after the great success gained by the Emilian artist as a composer. The main sources of inspiration are great adult pop productions of the past, where melodies are filtered with a jazz approach. These melodies are identified with the arrangements of excellent artists such as Claus Ogerman, the orchestral atmospheres in Shirley Bassey’s repertoire, and the playful evocative ability of Henry Mancini. All of these models could probably be considered unreachable, but anyway they show Alessandro Magnanini the artistic line where to draw inspiration from. The value of “Someway Still I Do” is increased by the immediacy of pop, the quality of the arrangements, the delicacy of timeless music and the world of soundtracks, representing the kind of jazz where breathing is typically orchestral.

Featured singers are Jenny B (“Secret Lover”, “Open Up Your Eyes”, “So Long Goodbye”), Liam McKahey, frontman of English band Cousteau (“Livin My Life”, “But Not For You”, “Someway Still I Do”), Rosalia De Souza (“L’estate è Qua”) on a rare opportunity to appreciate her singing in Italian, Stefania Rava (“Something Fine”), and Renata Tosi (“Stay Into My Life”).
